The movie tells the story of Omri, a 13-year-old boy who buys a small plastic Indian figure at a toy store. He takes it home and, out of curiosity, locks it in his cupboard with a magical key he found. To his surprise, the Indian figure, named Little Bear, comes to life. Omri learns that the key has the power to bring the figure to life, but only when locked in the cupboard. As Omri and Little Bear spend more time together, they form an unlikely friendship.
