This is the hallmark of a proper JZ build. Between 2,500 and 4,000 RPM, a prominent, high-pitched turbo whistle should cut through the exhaust note. Many drift-oriented 2JZ mods include an exaggerated BOV (Blow-Off Valve) sound—a sharp "Pshhh!" when you lift off the throttle.
