Despite its utility, the Achi IR6500 software is not without its critics, and the term "software hot" can sometimes carry a negative connotation regarding calibration. A frequent issue reported by users is a discrepancy between the software readings and the actual temperatures on the board. The software might report that the target temperature has been reached, yet the solder balls have not melted. This phenomenon occurs because the internal thermocouple may be reading the ambient temperature inside the heater area rather than the surface temperature of the chip.
