Season 2 picks up immediately after the cliffhanger ending of the first season. The Robinson family is stranded again, this time on a mysterious, water-logged planet. The central premise shifts slightly: while Season 1 was about surviving the crash, Season 2 is about the search for the Resolute and the long journey home.

The Robinsons must work together to find their way back to the colony ship, the Resolute , while dealing with environmental threats and the true intentions of Dr. Smith.
