Script Haxball exists in a gray area. The original creator of Haxball (Benoît Freslon) has not officially endorsed or prohibited scripting, but there are important rules:
The official Haxball developer (Basro) generally tolerates scripts as long as they don't overload the server or bypass the client's inherent limitations. However, "Headless clients" (automated bots) are technically against the unofficial spirit of the game, but they are widely accepted in the competitive community.

Advanced scripts (using the onGameTick event, which fires 60 times per second) can track every shot, pass, tackle, and save. Some even generate heatmaps of player movement or save replays of the last 10 seconds of gameplay.
