Amma (mother) sells her homemade pickles at the local market. A rich merchant cheats her by paying with fake coins. When the son, Kuttan, learns of this, he doesn’t fight or cry. Instead, he visits the merchant’s shop and asks for “water to wash his feet.” He borrows the merchant’s own brass pot, fills it with water, and then “accidentally” breaks it.
